For two trips now I have reported seeing herds of bull elk with nice racks that bolted as soon as they spied us. This time we inadvertently surprised two at close range. The fellow on the right was magnificent, even from the rear. This wild life is truly “wild”, not accustomed to humans like those roadside Kodak Kings stopping traffic on the Grand Loop road.
